13.00 Latest news from international networks, EFMC and EUFEPS
Just before the annual FinPharmSci meeting, we will arrange a free-form discussion session about the current activities and funding/networking opportunities provided by our international umbrella organizations, the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology (EFMC) and the European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS). This session is targeted especially to those who are not yet so familiar with current EFMC and EUFEPS activities as well as to young scientists (PhD students, postdocs) wishing to take part in and benefit from international young scientist networks within the EFMC and the EUFEPS.

14.10 Keynote lecture “Medicines: At the Intersection of Politics, Economics, and Health” by Associate Professor Anita Wagner (Harvard Medical School and the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute)
Professor Wagner’s research focuses on generating evidence for answering challenging health system questions evaluating, for example, impacts of insurance and other policy changes on medicines availability, access, affordability, and use – as well as communication of benefits, harms, and evidence uncertainties of new cancer medicines. Between September 2026 and May 2027, she is a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Eastern Finland, School of Pharmacy.
