The next EUFEPS Talks will take place on September 28, 2026 from 4 pm – 5 pm CEST. Michael Rühl will give a talk with the title: "Where Research Meets Manufacturing: Analytical Innovation for Therapeutic Oligonucleotides.

The Finnish Pharmaceutical Society is excited to organize the 2nd pitching competition for PhD students as part of FinPharmSci 2026 event. This year, we will select two winners:
One to represent Finland in the European PhD pitching competition at the EUFEPS Annual Meeting 2027, in Krakow, May 19-21, 2027, and one to represent Finland in the Young Scientist Symposium to be held in the context of the EFMC Synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry Meeting 2027, in Edinburgh, September 3-4, 2027 – with a possibility for oral presentation at the Symposium (speakers to be selected from among national representatives by the EFMC’s Young Scientist Network).

The Finnish Pharmaceutical Society warmly invites you to FinPharmSci 2026, the main networking event of the year, including a ceremony for the most notable awards in pharmaceutical sciences in Finland. The society welcomes everyone working in the pharmaceutical sector in Finland — from early-career professionals to experienced researchers, educators, and industry experts across academia, healthcare, and regulatory fields. The event is held in Helsinki on November 12th.

The Finnish Pharmaceutical Society is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the “Most Outstanding Pharmaceutical Research Article” award. This award provides an opportunity for researchers to be recognized and honored for their valuable contributions to pharmaceutical sciences. The award is 500€, and the winner will be announced at the FinPharmSci 2026 event in November. Please send your nomination to arto.merivaara@uef.fi by September 30, 2026.

The Finnish Pharmaceutical Society is delighted to announce the call for nominations for the prestigious Albert Wuokko Award for the best doctoral thesis. This biennial award, valued at 4000 euros, is the highest recognition in the pharmaceutical field in Finland and provides a fantastic opportunity for newly graduated PhDs to gain recognition and honor for their outstanding contributions to pharmaceutical sciences. Applications should be submitted to arto.merivaara@uef.fi by July 31st, 2026.

The EUFEPS Annual Meeting 2026 took place in Naples, Italy, on May 27–29. The Finnish Pharmaceutical Society was well represented in the meeting.

The annual meeting of the society was held last Tuesday in Helsinki.

The grant application period is 1.5.-31.5.2026, and during the application period, personal grants can be applied for doctoral studies aiming at a PhD degree. Grants will not be awarded for postdoctoral research. The grant decisions are made by the board of the Finnish Pharmaceutical Society, and the grant recipients will be notified by the latest at the beginning of September. The grant period may begin at the end of 2026 or in 2027, but the grant must be used in full by the end of  2027.

Welcome to the annual meeting of the Finnish Pharmaceutical Society on 28.4.2026 at 17.00. The meeting is held in Finnish atFredrikinkatu 61 A 10, 00170, Helsinki. Following the meeting, we are honored to have Anna Siira, Director of Marketing Authorisations, Finnish Medical Agency, present a seminar. We warmly welcome your participation in both the meeting and the seminar! We kindly ask you to register for the meeting latest by 19 April 2026.

The meeting will be held at Fredrikinkatu 61 A 10. After the meeting, we will host a seminar with Anna Siira, Director of Marketing Authorisations, Fimea, who will speak on:
“Lääkealan ajankohtaisia näkymiä viranomaisen silmin”

The seminar will provide valuable insights into current developments in the pharmaceutical field, viewed from a regulatory authority perspective. Warm welcome!
