The annual meeting of the society was held last Tuesday in Helsinki.

The grant application period is 1.5.-31.5.2026, and during the application period, personal grants can be applied for doctoral studies aiming at a PhD degree. Grants will not be awarded for postdoctoral research. The grant decisions are made by the board of the Finnish Pharmaceutical Society, and the grant recipients will be notified by the latest at the beginning of September. The grant period may begin at the end of 2026 or in 2027, but the grant must be used in full by the end of  2027.

The Finnish Pharmaceutical Society is pleased to share information about the upcoming conference “Computational and Medicinal Chemistry by the Lake 2026,” taking place in Kuopio, Finland, on 2–4 June 2026. Registration is now open!

The Finnish Pharmaceutical Society is pleased to announce the opening of the call for applications for travel grants and grants for organizing scientific meetings or conferences.
The application time for the grants is 1.1.-31.1.2026. Grants can be applied for (1) personal participation in scientific meetings and events, and (2) organizing a scientific meeting or conference. The travel grants (1) are primarily intended to support doctoral candidates conducting PhD studies.

The FinPharmSci 2025 event was held on Thursday, November 6, featuring excellent pitching presentations by PhD students, engaging research talks by grant recipients, and an inspiring keynote by the 2025 Albert Wuokko Award winner. During the event, the winners of the article award, honorary mentions, and master of pharmacy awards were also announced. Congratulations to all awardees, and thank you to everyone who participated!

The Finnish Pharmaceutical Society is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the “Most Outstanding Pharmaceutical Research Article” award. This award provides an opportunity for researchers to be recognized and honored for their valuable contributions to pharmaceutical sciences. The award is 500€, and the winner will be announced at the FinPharmSci 2025 event in November. Please send your nomination to arto.merivaara@uef.fi by September 26, 2025.

In addition to the statutory topics, we were honored to invite former secretary, Professor Leena Peltonen, as an honorary member. Professor Peltonen served as the society's secretary for 18 years and has made a remarkable contribution to the society’s mission. Congratulations, Leena!

The FinPharmSci event 2024 was organized on 14.11.2024 in Helsinki. The event gathered over 40 participants to enjoy great presentations and networking with colleagues. This years research grantees, Albert Wuokko awardee, outstanding article awardees, and study price awardees were announced in the seminar.
